After many hours of research, we found the Avallon Build-In Beverage cooler, and it was a great buy, and beautiful addition to our kitchen. The refrigeration is more than cool enough to keep beer and wine cold. What is also wonderful about the Avallon, is that it is perfect for juices, soft drinks, milk, eggs, anything that requires cooling. The shelves can be removed to allow for taller items, or for party trays. We are very happy with our purchace. Our prior cooler was an Avanti, which, we owned for twelve years. The cooler died at year ten. It was sufficient, but was not cool enough, louder compressor, and had a solid door, which wasn’t as attractive. The Avallon compressor is quiet. It vents in front as well. The only con is that the door must be shut well or it pops open. Be sure the door is shut, because it is unlike a heavier refrigerator door with stronger suction. We also like the lightening options; a continuous white, blue, or auto, lighting only when opening. We will recommend the Avallon to anyone seeking a quality beverage cooler.
Just built a new home and wanted a beverage center to complement the kitchen. After reading a bazillion reviews and comparing a bazillion specs, we landed on the Avallon and let me say this, I am certainly glad that this was the winner! The unit is well built and solid! The door alone is impressive and has significant weight to close tight without any fear of cold air escaping. The unit holds its temperature like a champ!! The internal air circulation fan is almost soundless and the exhaust fan is barley audible from all points in the house as well. The glass shelves are adjustable and look fantastic! The shelves are trimmed on the front edge with stainless steel and complement the overall stylish look of the unit. In summary the 2 biggest winning factors for choosing the Avallon was 1-temprature control 2-fit and finish. This was truly the finishing touch to our new home and beautiful kitchen. I can truly say that I would diffenetly recommend this unit to anyone!
Got this beverage center to go under my cabinet in the basement bar I finished myself. Did a lot of research to find out a lot were overpriced and the reviews said they didn’t last long. Came across this and took a gamble knowing that some people complained about the noise. Put it in last week before a st pattys day party and couldn’t be happier. Works like a charm, looks really classy, and keeps beers ice cold (and juice boxes for the kids). The lights are very functional and it’s cool you can turn them on full one or just with door use. The noise is a total non issue, my dog snoring on the floor next to it was absolutely louder than the compressor that runs for 5-10 seconds every few minutes. If you’re looking for an under counter application I highly recommend this beverage center. Time will tell how it holds up-and if things change I will update my review; but initial reactions are very positive.
I did a lot of research prior to making a purchase and I was not disappointed. I've had for about a month and this fridge has been GREAT! Keeps beverages very cold. I haven't tested it but I keep it on 34 degrees and drinks are cold. I looked at other units and some only went down to 40 degrees and that just isn't cold enough. The shelves are adjustable, pull out (there are stoppers), and can be removed. I actually removed a shelf because I like to keep large stuff like gallons of milk, water bottles, etc at the top. We don't drink soda so I knew I had to get one with adjustable shelves. I know I'm losing space because its designed to maximize cans, but that's ok. The unit itself is very quiet! The blue LED lights come on when you open the fridge and turn off when you close the door. This was the only bev center I found that did that. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit!
Installed, did not wait recommended 24 hours cool down. Loaded with cold product and with in a few hours registered 28 degrees by my temperature polder. Checked my water bottles this morning still 28 and no freezing. Beautiful blue light that will also be useful for nitelight. This is an outdoor covered location ambient temp 85 degrees. Very humid. Also want to comment on how well it was packaged for delivery. Do not buy a thermal electric beverage cooler if you want and expect cold temperatures. this unit is front vented and has compressor and fan.
I purchased this fridge four months ago. I was a little nervous at first shipping something that could so easily be damaged, however it came in perfect condition and the freight handlers could not have been better. The fridge is expensive but it was the only one on the market that I could find that could maintain the temperature you set it at. It doesn’t feel cheaply made when you open and close the door as other models felt. Some reviewers complained about the noise, it does run through a short cycle but I don’t find the noise to be overly loud or bothersome. My husband has also not complained about the noise. We’ve had no issues with it so far. As a warning, this fridge is a smidge taller than a standard cabinet so you need to take that into consideration when building it in. Blue light just makes it look all the better. Don’t pass this model up!
This drink refrigerator is amazing! It is the only fridge under $1000 that I have seen that will cool to 34°F, and it actually does. I originally bought a similar fridge that was advertised to cool to 38°F and cost $200 less. Not only did the fridge arrive poorly packaged, but it was superficially damaged. Furthermore, it never registered a reading lower than 41°F from my digital thermometer. In the end I returned it and bought the Avallon. From the moment it arrived my experience was different. It arrived in a well-packaged box via freight delivery on a pallet, with a pallet "do not stack" cone. The box design is ingenious, as the bottom is a separate piece of cardboard and easily separates from the top. That brings me to its footprint: its quite big to be designed for under-counter installation. I had measured the intended space for the fridge and I had exactly 34.5 inches. NOTE: you will need every bit of that space and possibly more. I had to take the feet off, put on some furniture pads to barely avoid metal scraping the floor, and I still had to remove the vinyl flooring to get this behemoth to fit under that counter. I would not recommend buying this fridge if you are set on positioning the fridge under the counter and don't ABSOLUTELY have 34.5 inches to work with. Also, I don't know who has the extra 2-3 inches of depth to provide the ventilation that is recommended in the instruction manual, but I don't so it's recessed as much as possible. I have also read some people feel that the compressor is loud. Maybe because my fridge is such a tight fit against a concrete wall that I do not hear it, but this thing is quiet to my sensitive hearing. Another great feature is the lighting. The lights are placed on every level of the unit and really illuminate the space in an unobstructed way, which I know sounds inconsequential, but makes it look very luxurious. As I mentioned, this fridge really cools as advertised. Maybe even too well! I had to bump up the thermostat to 36°F because I have registered a temperature as low as 28-30°F when the compressor kicks on (see picture). I did buy the extended warranty offered from Amazon because stainless steel drink fridges are expensive as a lot, and there always seems to be a lemon out there. That said, Avallon has a one-year factory warranty AND will repair/replace your compressor for five years after the date of purchase. I haven't dealt personally with their customer service department, and I hope I don't have to, but it seems like the company stands by their product. My only complaint is that I have had my eye on it for 8 months and it recently went up in price from $719 to $899. In summary, if cold drinks are important to you, don't be fooled by the lower prices of comparable models. This one is the real deal!
Our unit is part of a wet bar with a kegerator and has been operating great for a year now. I'm ordering another one today for an attic space we just finished. The open door alarm is nice, it's come in handy a few times when the door was just barely open. We use it with 2 glass shelves, so including the bottom of the unit we have top shelf bottles and 2 can shelves and it is easy to get things in/out. If we have a bottle of wine we just lay it down either front to back or sideways in the back.
This the winner. After receiving 2 other brand of freezers this unit is the clear winner in both design/quality and delivery Design/quality - the door face is one single, seamless item. There are no miter corner joints in the aluminum door face. Score a big one for me - makes the unit at least look in par with Kitchenaid and higher priced brand. The blue/white light option is cool. The thermostat drops down to 35? (Ok well flow other brands) to keep the drinks cold. Also the holes in the shelves is a good touch to keep cold air circulating. About the dim - whey they say it’s “that” size it is that size. My contractor had to shave 1/4” off the plastic feet (which is screwed and used for leveling) to fit under the 34” opening. We have cabinets-to-go lower base cabinets with quartz counter top - no overhang or other obstructions. Sound - wa a big consideration before the purchase. So it’s not super quiet and I don’t notice it running fridge. But it’s not loud or that noticeable. We have in the butlers area and it does it’s work and I don’t notice the sound. Score. Delivery. This was another big factor. So much that we purchased another brand from Abt - local brick and mortar store to avoid damages during shipping. At least we could inspect the item at the site before pick up. But I’m glad we changed our minds and ordered this unit. We ordered 3 ( 1 from Amazon 1 from Costco and then there’s the Abt) different brands and the 2 that did arrive to our house were damaged. Both were on the corners. As for this unit the delivery wa via Estes logistics and arrived on a pallet with a “do not place other object” hat on top of the box. If they had placed an item of some weight then the little hat would have been deformed and you could refuse delivery in the spot. Bottom line - this a great design and build quality unit with a different delivery method to ensure you get to enjoy the freezer without transit damage. Couple hundred bucks more than similar fridges in the 700-1000 range but well worth it.
I read a gazillion reviews before I purchased this. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but we bought for under the counter in our butler’s pantry off of the kitchen, which is about 15’- 20’ from where we watch Tv. We wanted something that kept beverages cool, looked great and most importantly was relatively quiet- this checks all three. I also love that there are multiple light choices. We opt for a low bluish light when the door is closed and a bright light when opened. If the door is left open accidentally, a small beep will alert you to it. The shelves are adjustable, but it did take a while to figure how to move them and to decide how we wanted them for our drinks. Overall we are completely happy with this- we’ve used it for over 6 months!
Has anyone been able to find out which is the best product among those listed here?
